Who is this Juliette Commagere? Apparently she’s part of the LA band Hello Stranger and has an album, Queens Die Proudly, out right now. She’s toured with the Foo Fighters and is going to work with Maynard of Tool as well as Avenged Sevenfold on their upcoming albums. So I was expecting some serious dark rock or something. Nope. Quite the opposite actually. On Queens Die Proudly Commagere wanted to “combine her classical roots with her love of Tangerine Dream-esque apreggiators and synthesizers.” She’s pretty successful in achieving that. The album doesn’t floor me, but all in all it’s quite beautiful after you listen to the full 13 tracks.
