With a name like Princeton I was expecting intelligently written indie rock from Brooklyn or something. Well I was half right. They’re from L.A., but their style of spacious orchestral pop movements is sophisticated and stunning. Princeton (named for the street the band members lived on) has recently released the Bloomsbury EP which focuses on each member of the famed Bloomsbury intellectual collective that existed in London during the early 20th Century. I’m not too keen on the history of that particular moment in history, but the greatness of this band’s music has me googling away.
