What kind of music would a band named Starfucker play? That was the first question I had when this Portland trio’s music rolled into my inbox. To be honest, I was a little scared to find out. Fortunately, the answer is FUN. If I had to give an example I’d say in some instances Starfucker sounds like Of Montreal covering MGMT (which would be super sweet). Playful and humorous, but serious when it comes to melody and catchiness. Starfucker is dancing along the very thin line of experimental rock and electro-pop and this is the reason their self-titled debut won’t be leaving my ipod anytime soon. Addictive…fun…and addictive.
