Josh Reichman Oracle Band

Josh Reichman first earned some serious praise with his indie rock band, Tangiers.  Now he’s back with the retro funk, saxophone laden Josh Reichman Oracle Band.  He’s recently released his first EP, Life Is Legal, on limited edition vinyl via Paperbag Records.  This five song trip has me crate digging for some old Stevie Wonder or Frank Zappa with that strange soul/funk/rock vibe.  There was only 300 copies pressed for this EP so hurry up and snatch one up before they’re gone.  Reichman will also be touring through the area with Sebastien Grainger and the Mountains that includes stops at DC9 in DC on November 30th and Johnny Brenda’s in Philly on December 1st.

  • Just saw Josh Reichman at DC9 last night. Very cool music, love the sax-y rock vibe and general uniqueness of their sound given the current scene. Also, really wanted to say that Josh and all the guys in the band are (or at least seem to be) awesome people in general. It’s rare that I deal with a band that makes a ‘good’ impression on me and they certainly did. All thoughtful, funny and sweet guys! It was great meeting them! I hope they stop by my bar again the next time they’re in town…
