It’s almost March and you know what that means…the madness…but until then I’ve been a enjoying a slew of good college basketball games, a slew of good music (so many grand albums are coming into Pasta Primavera, I can’t keep up – i guess that’s a good problem to have), and a slew of good pastries left over from a recent party (Fenwick Bakery is the best!!). This week has been an interesting one hasn’t it? You’ve got the chimp attacking people then getting shot then inspiring a controversial comic strip for the New York Post criticizing Obama and the stimulus plan. The Oceanic 6 are now back on the island…finally…and finally there’s an episode that had only one flash of light in it…they were getting a little excessive with that. Tonight is also the last night for Conan O’Brien in the Big Apple. I’m hoping it all works out for him on the west coast. If you’re a sports fan the Orioles spring training is now in full swing… umm… whoopee? Hard to get excited about that when we haven’t had a winning season since Quantum Leap was all the rage… but if you focus on the O’s perhaps it will take your mind off of the beating the Maryland Men’s Basketball team just took at Clemson…yikes. I digress. Here’s to hoping the weekend brings some cheer to all you folks. Since I can’t serve alcohol on this blog here’s some remixes on the rocks.

Hopefully on this so called “hexed” day I end up with a little more luck than last Friday. I was doing a good thing and finally going to the doctor to see if everything was running okay. Seemed I didn’t have my tetanus shot up to date so I rolled up my sleeve and got ‘er done. Which in turn led to four days of high fever – thus complicating any substance of a weekend. Thanks Doc. So this week was crappy. Cold. Ice. Tough sledding in DC (I still have faith Obama will get it together). Tough sledding in Tampa (not a Steelers fan – though I do admit they were pretty good). Work was a big headache on most of the days. If it wasn’t for my lovely family and the new episode of Lost…I would be downright miserable right now. Luckily it’s the start of the weekend now. The weather is going to warm up and the sun is going to come out and shine it’s shine down on my shiney forehead and…I’ll smile…and forget about all that crap…and…drum up some optimism for the following week. Here comes Superbowl weekend! Who’s your pick? What? You don’t have one? I’ll admit it, I’m not overwhelmingly excited about the match up, but hey it’s a perfectly good excuse to kick back and eat some seriously unhealthy food for a few hours. Also I’m pretty psyched to see the Boss at halftime. Hopefully it’s not a blowout, but if so, maybe there will be some entertaining commercials for a change (apparently the ad agencies have determined that laughter would be the best medicine for the dismal times). Don’t you love when the work week ends on a mellow note? This week is turning out to fairly unpleasant at work. I now sit amongst a growing foul stench being emitted from the wet carpet at the back of my workplace. An overflowing toilet was the culprit. So the wait begins for the carpet cleaning people get here to make it smell like roses. I guess it could be worse (I do enjoy my day job for the most part). It’s just when a foul odor is strong it can really disrupt your mind and manner. Maybe if I just crank the music it loud, it will ease the…uneasiness.
